Pet Location: Wayside Waifs Campus - Please arrive at the shelter before 4pm on our open adoption days to meet me! My Friends at Wayside say: - I am enrolled in Waifs with Wisdom. This is a program for dogs to learn basic commands and leash walking skills. My adoption comes with a free 30-minute private training session. - I am a small, independent guy who is a beagle-lover's dream! - I’m smart and food/treat motivated. - I have displayed some touch sensitivities. Ask our staff for more info! My home needs are: - Wayside recommends no apartments or shared living spaces for me, please! I like to use my voice when I am excited. - I need a home with kids 6 years old and older since I tend to be nervous around new people and loud noises. - Wayside recommends bringing your children between 6 and 9 years old out to meet me before adoption since I can be nervous around new people and loud noises. - Wayside recommends you bring your dog to meet me before adoption to ensure we can be buddies. - Wayside recommends researching my breed before adopting. Hello, I’m Cooper! My 3-year-old self is a Beagle-lover’s dream! I’m incredibly sweet, cuddly, affectionate, and gentle, with a huge curiosity streak. Long, sniffy walks are one of my favorite activities. If you wanted to take me on a car ride or tell me that I’m "such a good boy," I won’t complain! Being a Beagle means that I can be pretty independent, so if I’m not in the mood, I can be a little sensitive to certain types of touch. If there are little humans at home, it’s best for me if they are over 6 years old; this helps avoid any overstimulation. I do really love other dogs. Like I said, I’m independent, so I prefer to initiate contact and play with furry friends. After that, it’s game on!
