About Firefly

✨🐞 Meet Firefly 🐞✨ Firefly is located in Skiatook, OK -Adopters will need to come pick him up themselves. We do NOT offer puppy delivery, teleportation, or Prime shipping for tiny fluff nuggets. 📝 Apply here first (yes, before meeting him — his face alone cannot approve applications unfortunately): https://www.pyrpawsandfluffytailsrescue.com/adoption-app Somewhere between a tiny woodland sprite and a flying marshmallow with legs, Firefly has arrived to brighten up absolutely everyone’s day. This little guy seems to believe his life mission is simple: locate humans immediately…then shower them with kisses until they physically cannot resist him anymore. Firefly is the kind of puppy who could be mid-wrestling match with his siblings, spot a person from across the room, and instantly abandon ship like, “Sorry peasants, my public needs me.” The second you pick him up, he transforms into a full-blown cuddle bug with approximately zero respect for personal space and a concerning amount of enthusiasm for puppy smooches. According to absolutely nobody with the interworkings of DNA credentials, Firefly is a rare and highly sought-after Miniature Glowbug Floofenheimer. Very exclusive. Very scientific. In reality, this tiny gentleman is a 6 week old, 3lb male mystery mix with possible Husky, German Shepherd, Australian Cattle Dog, and Border Collie sprinkled into the genetic soup. Mama Crickette came to us after someone discovered she had decided a sofa was the ideal location to raise her babies. (Honestly? Real estate prices are rough. We don’t judge.) The family was brought to the shelter, and from there they officially joined our fluffy butt family. While dad appears to have been a traveling salesman who vanished before paternity testing could occur, mama is believed to be a German Shepherd/Husky mix and currently weighs around 49lbs. We do NOT think dad was very large either, which means Firefly likely will not grow into your standard issue polar bear-sized Pyr mix. Our best totally unofficial educated guess is somewhere around 50–60lbs full grown… but genetics are basically puppy lottery tickets, so he could end up smaller, larger, or somewhere in between. So if you’ve been wanting to adopt from us but quietly panicked at the thought of accidentally bringing home a 120lb cloud creature who can counter-surf your refrigerator and bark at butterfly activity at 4am… congratulations. This may be your moment. Firefly is offering all the fluff, sweetness, and personality in a slightly more compact, portable package. Firefly is currently thriving in his tiny little social butterfly era. He absolutely loves playing with his littermates and has also decided that the foster family’s Pomeranian, Tallulah, is an excellent life choice. Whether he’s bouncing around with the other puppies or toddling after Tallulah like a fuzzy little intern trying to learn the ropes, Firefly is happiest when he has friends nearby. As for cats, Firefly has not officially met any yet because right now he is still approximately the size of a warm dinner roll and spends a large portion of his day doing important baby activities like napping, cuddling, and dramatically running three feet before needing a snack break. Kids? Oh, he LOVES kids. Honestly, Firefly operates under the assumption that every human was specifically created to admire him, hold him, and tell him he’s handsome. He happily soaks up attention and affection from everyone he meets and approaches life with the confidence of a puppy who has never once paid taxes or faced consequences. Right now Firefly’s energy level is sitting around a solid 3/10, which means he enjoys little bursts of playtime and socializing before immediately remembering he is, in fact, just a baby and requires seventeen naps to recover from walking across the room. His daily schedule currently consists of playing, cuddling, searching for attention, dramatic toddling, snack breaks, and collapsing into adorable unconsciousness. This little guy absolutely adores people. His favorite thing in the entire world is getting attention from humans, and he takes that responsibility very seriously. Once picked up, Firefly transforms into a professional cuddle consultant and kiss distributor. He is more than happy to smother his humans in puppy kisses while melting dramatically into their arms like he has waited his entire life for this exact moment. Sweet, loving, happy, and deeply people-oriented, Firefly is the kind of puppy who wants to be wherever you are — preferably touching you, staring lovingly at you, or attempting to crawl directly into your sweatshirt. Now, while Firefly is absolutely adorable and currently small enough to fit in places he definitely should not fit, his future family does need to remember that he is still a tiny baby with approximately two working brain cells at any given moment — and both are usually focused on snacks or cuddles. His new family will need to continue working on all the important puppy things like potty training, leash training, socialization, and basic manners. Right now Firefly thinks life is one giant magical adventure where every object is potentially a toy, every room deserves investigation, and every human exists solely to love him. It will be up to his future people to help guide him into becoming a confident, well-rounded adult dog instead of a freelancing household goblin. Socialization will be especially important since this little guy appears to have inherited some brains along with his fluff. Helping him safely experience new people, sounds, places, and adventures while he’s young will go a long way toward shaping him into a happy, confident companion. And of course… puppy proofing. Sweet innocent Firefly may look like a tiny angelic woodland creature, but puppies have an incredible talent for locating the ONE thing in your house they absolutely should not have. The good news? He is incredibly people-oriented, eager for affection, and already loves being around humans, which gives him a wonderful foundation for training and bonding with his future family. If you think Firefly might be your perfect match, you’ll need to fill out an adoption application so we can send it over to his foster family for review. Please note: staring at his photos repeatedly, whispering “oh my gosh,” or emotionally attaching yourself through the screen does NOT count as applying. The application is the important part. 📍 Firefly is located in Skiatook, OK, and adopters will need to come pick him up themselves. We do NOT teleport puppies, launch them via Amazon Prime, or have a tiny puppy catapult hidden behind the rescue building. So yes, you must physically come get the tiny glowing marshmallow yourself.
