Meet Philip — a 1-year-old, 18 pound, wire-haired Dachshund mix who is equal parts adorable, hilarious, and mildly unhinged in the most lovable way. Philip is the kind of dog who wakes up every day and chooses chaos… but like, fun chaos. This scruffy little man is playful, energetic, curious, and convinced that every living creature he sees should either: Play with him immediately or Hear him loudly express his feelings about it. And wow… does he have feelings. On walks, Philip has a bit of a “small-town gossip seeing someone through the window” reaction to other dogs. Lots of barking. Lots of excitement. Big opinions packed into a little wire-haired body. The good news? He’s not aggressive—just very enthusiastic and in need of continued training and structure to work through his leash reactivity. At home, Philip is an absolute blast. He loves toys, cuddles, treats, walks, and trying relentlessly to convince other dogs to wrestle with him (whether they asked for that or not). He’s social, friendly with people, and has never met a stranger he didn’t think might potentially give him attention. He’s also house trained, puppy pad trained, crate trained, and not destructive—which honestly feels impressive considering the level of gremlin energy he sometimes brings to the table. Philip would thrive with someone who understands the dachshund mindset: smart, stubborn, hilarious, dramatic, loving, and occasionally acting like they pay the bills. He needs a home committed to continuing his training, especially with leash manners and impulse control, but in return you’ll get a ridiculously entertaining little sidekick with a huge personality. He’s not a “perfect angel puppy.” He’s better. He’s a tiny weird man with scruffy hair and strong opinions. And honestly?
