Lyonesse Male MRQ# F9-25-4 DOB: 07/22/2025 Lyonesse, most often called Lion, is old enough to be past stupid kitten tricks, ready to move into your life, and be your friend. He is a loving and playful fluffy boy, who is something of a diva, likes other cats, and has completely overcome his tragic past. Past Stupid Kitten Tricks O Lyonesse is well past stupid kitten tricks. When he was younger, he liked to chew my hair, but he doesnāt do that anymore. Heās outgrown such silliness and has grown into a fairly calm boy who likes napsābut he still has a squeaky meow. O Lyonesse is still young enough to adjust to change easily. When he moves in with you, he may be a little shy at first, but heāll soon be racing all over your home, happily exploring and claiming it as his own. O Lyonesse likes his people. He also loves treats and play, so it wonāt be too hard to convince him that youāre a friend. Itās easy to lure him over with lickable treats, which heās trained to lick off fingers, making him quickly approach. Loving O Lyonesse is a very sweet and loving kitten who likes having his people around. When I leave the kitten room, he often scratches at the door to tell me, āCome back! Or let me out with you!ā O Lyonesse has a lovely loud purr. Heāll purr and purr when petted and scratched, particularly when his head is scratched. O Lyonesse loves fluffy blankets. Heāll knead them and nurse on them. So if you want him to be a lap cat, itās easy. Just put the fluffy blanket on your lap. If you want him to snuggle beside you on the sofa, put the fluffy blanket beside you. Heāll go wherever you put it. O Lyonesse also loves other cats. Heāll snuggle against his siblings or his kitten cousins. Playful O Lyonesse is quite playful. He likes to chase small toys like balls, to play chase with his sister and other cats, and to go after teasers. O Lyonesse will bounce into the air for his favorite teasers. Heāll race after strings on the floor too. Then, when he catches the teaser, heāll prance off with it proudly to enjoy it himself for a bit. But he doesnāt mind if you reclaim it and make it go for him again. O Lyonesse likes to play so much that often, if he sees his sister playing with a teaser, heāll run over to play with the teaser tooāand take over the playtime. Fluffy O Lyonesse is a majestic medium haired cat like his mother, with a fluffy banner tail and a ruff around his face. However, he isnāt so fluffy that he needs a lot of brushing, or possibly any brushing. O Like most fluffies, Lyonesseās fur is extra soft. O While Lyonesse is called a Nebelung mix, heās probably only a knock off version. But he looks very much like the breed. O Lyonesseās gray hair has some curious color changes. It often looks silver around the edges or where it catches the light. In some pictures, he can look almost brown. Something of a diva O Lyonesse is the leader of his litter and all the other kittens. He knows what he wants and will go straight for it. If thereās play going on, heās there. If you pull a toy for another kitten, heās going to run over and probably try to take it, since all toys should be his first. When you get out wet food, heāll follow you to where it usually goes, and if the other kittens donāt eat their food quickly, heāll take it all. O Lyonesse is bold with other cats. If you have a larger cat who likes to play, Lyonesse will happily play with them. He was willing to play chase and wrestle with his elder nephew who was twice his size, and bop him away when the larger kitten wanted Lyonesseās treat. He also plays chase with his fosterās younger adult cat. O At the same time, Lyonesse isnāt pushy with older cats, just confident. When he meets his fosterās adult cats, he sniffs noses, then goes off to do what he wants to do, mainly explore their area and run all about. O Lyonesse is quite determined. If youāre giving out treats and he doesnāt feel youāre giving him his share fast enough, heāll paw softly at you, claws in, to move the treat to where it should goāto his mouth! If youāre eating toast or chicken near him, he comes over to demand tidbits and paw you to let you know he needs to share. Just donāt ask me why he likes bread! Likes other cats O Lyonesse likes other cats. He was very happy to play with his nephew and to snuggle with the younger kittens later, though he didnāt like his cousins playing with his tail at all and bopped them until they learned to stop. O Lyonesse was born into a feral cat colony. He learned the cat code first and knows how to behave with other cats. He gets along fine with all of his fosterās adult cats. Even the older cat who often hisses at kittens doesnāt often hiss at him. O When Lyonesse is out of the kitten room, in the main house with his fosterās adult cats, he greets them with nose sniffs. If theyāre willing to play with him, he play. If not, he leaves them be. Tragic Past O Lyonesseās mother, a beloved feral, the matriarch of the local colony, was killed by a coyote when he was about 7 weeks old. Lion and his siblings managed to survive, by themselves, for the four or five days between their mother dying and them being trapped and brought in their fosterās home. O Lyonesse became tame very quickly. He loves attention and play. Not a Solo Cat O Lyonesse is not a solo cat. He needs a buddy. Lion has never been alone, without other cats, and he wouldnāt like it at all. O Lyonesse would love to be adopted with his short-haired sister, Avalon. She relies on him and copies what he does. So it would be much better for both of them to be adopted together. O However, Lion would be happy with another cat too, as long as the other cat would play with himāand not bite his tail. He doesnāt like smaller kittens who bite his tail. Meet O You can meet Lyonesse on Saturdays from 12 to 4 at the Meoowz adoption event at the Buena Park Petco or at his fosterās home by arrangement. Contact Carol by email at zanzimer@yahoo.com or by text or phone at 951-317-1736 to arrange a visit. Lyonesse will be happier if you meet him at his home because he doesnāt like adoption events. Side note O Lyonesseās litter is named after Arthurian places. Lyonesse is a mysterious land, not a misspelling of lioness. He was named that because it had the obvious nickname of Lion. Even when he was first brought in from the wild, he looked and acted like a confident little lion cub.
