Avalon Female MRQ# F9-25-1 DOB: 07/22/2025 Avalon, also known as Avi and Lady, is old enough to be past the past stupid kitten tricks, ready to move into your life and be your friend. She is a sweet talkative girl with a tragic past, who loves to play, relies on her brother, and likes other cats Past Stupid Kitten Tricks O Avalon actually never engaged in stupid kitten tricks to start with. Sheâs careful and cautious. She never chewed my hair or chewed electric cords, much less got herself stuck in anywhere she shouldnât be. O At the same time, Avalon is young enough that she still easily adjusts to change. Sheâll be shy in your home at first, but sheâll soon follow her brother (or another cat) out and copy them. O Avalon loves treats. She even comes when you call âtreat!â So while sheâll be shy with you at first, if you give her treats, sheâll soon be your friend. Sweet girl O Avalon will walk by you and meow softly for pats. She loves to be petted and to have her head scratched. Sheâll purr softly for you when you pet and scratch her. O Once she knows you, Avalon will headbutt your legs and wind around them when she comes to you. O Avalon is not a lap cat, but she does like her people. Sheâs just a bit of a diva and wants to come to you, to call to you, instead of waiting for you to come to her. Talkative O Avalon is a talker. She will tell you clearly what she wants. O Avalon mews softly when she wants attention, waiting nearby for pats. Avalon gives a louder meow when she wants treats. She likes to eat treats in her den, so sheâll meow, then when she sees you have the treat bag, dart into her den and wait. O Avalon also sometimes chirps or trills. She chitters at birds when she sees them through the window. Tragic past O Avalonâs mother was killed by a coyote in when she was around 7 weeks old. It took me four or five days to catch her and her siblings after I found out. So Avalon knows that bad things can happen to good cats and is a bit shyer with strangers and strange places than most cats. O Avalon has largely recovered from the trauma of her past, but sheâs probably always going to be a one or two person cat, only really interested in her chosen people, who feed her, spend time with her, and pet her. She will need patience and lots of quiet time with her new people to adjust to them. Loves to Play O Avalon loves to play by herself, with her brother, and with teasers. She happily chases balls and mice, plays chase with her brother, and bops and leaps at teasers. O Currently, her favorite teaser is a long feather on a stick, which she likes so much she wonât just bop at it and chase it. Sheâll catch it and carry it off to enjoy by herself. O If you throw a ball or mouse for her, Avalon will race after it. Sheâs especially excited by bouncy balls that move in ways she doesnât expect. Relies on Brother O A delicate lady, Avalon relies on her brother Lyonesse to show her whatâs safe and what she should do. She often copies him. If her brother sits with you, sheâll come sit with you tooâor walk around you asking for pats and scratches while sometimes headbutting your legs. O Avalon learns quickly from watching her brother. He saw me feeding an adult cat a treat outside the kitten room one day and demanded his share. Two days later, Avalon came up to the glass door to ask for her share too. Now, when the adult cat gets her treat, both Avalon and Lyonesse rush to the door for theirs. O Avalon often sits and relaxes near her brother. When itâs colder, they snuggle. When itâs hotter, they just sit on the same cat tree or chair. Likes Other Cats O Avalon likes other cats. She was born in a feral cat colony and learned the cat code first, people second. The only time Iâve seen her hiss at another cat was when the younger kittens wanted to bite her tail or when her brother gets too rough when wrestling. Iâve never seen her hiss at an adult cat. She comes up to greet them and tries to befriend them instead. O Avalon will probably befriend any cats you have before sheâs completely comfortable with you. She will defer to them. Even my oldest adult cat, who doesnât like kittens, usually doesnât hiss at Avalon. O Avalon doesnât just snuggle with her siblings. Sheâs snuggled up to every other kitten sheâs met. She would probably snuggle with her fosterâs adult cats too, but doesnât get as much time with them. She does hurry over to see the adult cats when sheâs allowed out with them. Not a Solo Cat O Avalon is not a solo cat. She needs a buddy. Avalon has never been alone, without other cats, and she wouldnât like it at all. She is a copy cat and needs another cat to show her whatâs safe. O It would be best if Avalon could be adopted with her fluffy brother Lyonesse. She relies on him. He shows her what to do. O However, Avalon could manage with another confident cat to copy as a buddy. It would just take much longer and much more patience for Avalon to adjust without her brother to lead the way. She would be much shyer in her new home without him. Meet O You can meet Avalon on Saturdays from 12 to 4 at Meoowz adoption event at the Buena Park Petco or at her fosterâs home by arrangement. Contact Carol by email at zanzimer@yahoo.com or by text or phone at 951-317-1736 to arrange a visit.
