Meet Max — a resilient, loving boy with the sweetest soul. At just 3 years old, Max arrived at the shelter in heartbreaking condition, severely underweight and clearly neglected. But despite everything he’s been through, Max has never stopped loving people. Since coming into our care, Max has already gained 11 pounds in just two weeks, and his transformation has been incredible to watch. His bloodwork reflected his poor body condition, but thankfully showed no major metabolic concerns. With continued proper nutrition, love, and care, we know Max will be back to a healthy weight in no time. What stands out most about Max isn’t his past — it’s his heart. He’s social, friendly, and eager for affection. Max is also tolerant of other dogs, and we suspect he likely lived with canine companions before. He’s the kind of dog who simply wants to be near his people and finally experience the comfort and security he’s always deserved. Max has overcome so much already, and now he’s ready for his fresh start. This sweet boy will make a wonderful addition to one very lucky family.
