Meet sweet Penny Penny is a 7-month-old Goldendoodle with the softest curls and an even softer heart. While she's still just a puppy, Penny has already been through more than any dog should. Her difficult past has left her fearful and unsure at times, so she's looking for a patient, understanding home that will help her continue learning that the world can be safe and kind. Penny absolutely LOVES other dogs and truly thrives with canine companionship, so she would do best in a home with another friendly, confident dog to help show her the ropes. She bonds quickly with women, but she is still very wary around men. Any male figure in the home will need to be patient, gentle, and willing to give her plenty of time and space to build trust at her own pace. Because Penny can become overstimulated during play and zoomies, and may occasionally be a little nippy when nervous or excited, she would do best in a home with older children (10+) or no children. She's still very much a puppy and is currently in her chewing phase, so lots of toys, enrichment, and bones are a must to keep her busy and happy. Penny is learning basic training and is a bit of a stubborn girl, so patience and consistency will go a long way with her. Her absolute favorite game is fetch, and once she feels comfortable, her playful personality really shines through. She also LOVES her crate and sees it as her safe space where she can relax and decompress. She walks well on leash but can still get spooked when passing strangers, so she'll need continued confidence-building and positive experiences as she grows.
