Chewy’s double eye cryosurgery went well, aside from some staining from drainage that should fade as his fur grows out. Now that he’s recovered, this small guy seems ready to settle into a forever home. Chewy is a Shih Tzu, possibly with some Maltese mixed in, around 1–2 years old, and he shows an affectionate side that makes him easy to fall for. He’s happiest when he can be close—curled on your lap, against your shoulder, or even just nearby on the couch. Chewy does get along with other dogs and with kids, though he’s a bit guarded initially and might be protective until he feels safe. Because his past is uncertain, slow introductions to new people and dogs are important. Households with very young, high-energy children aren’t his best match; he’ll do better somewhere calm and steady. He’s puppy pad trained and has just occasional accidents.
