Meet Maya! She is a 2-year-old lovely medium-sized girl, weighing around 45 pounds, who's ready to find a loving home to call her own. Maya came to us from another shelter, and she's been patiently waiting since May 5th, 2026 for her chance at a fresh start. Maya is a very sweet dog who especially loves playing with other dogs. She has previously lived with another dog and has done well meeting dogs here at the shelter. She may enjoy having a canine companion in her future home with a thoughtful introduction. While Maya is affectionate once she feels comfortable, she does take some time to adjust to new people and environments. Because of this, adopters should be prepared to help advocate for her when she's feeling unsure or uncomfortable and allow her the opportunity to build trust at her own pace. Maya also appears to have slight vision impairments, so gentle guidance and patience will help her feel more confident as she settles into a new home. We are recommending a home without young children, and all family members should meet Maya prior to adoption to ensure a good fit. Maya is also looking for a home without cats.
