*If you are interested in adopting Bambi, please fill out an application at: www.loveandpuppypawsdogrescue.com/adoption-application Bambi is a loving, cuddly 8 week old lab / terrier mix pup that weighs 7 lbs. She is estimated to be around 45 lbs when she is fully grown. Bambi is the definition of a sweetheart and absolutely adores being close to her people. If Bambi had it her way, she would happily spend all day curled up in someone’s arms soaking up belly rubs, kisses, and cuddles. Affection is definitely her love language and she never passes up a chance to be cuddled and held by her humans. Her favorite spot in the house is sprawled out in her foster mom's arms getting belly rubs. While Bambi is a champion cuddler, she also has a playful and silly side that makes her so much fun to be around. She loves toys of every kind and is especially obsessed with playing fetch. She gets so excited chasing after her toys and proudly carrying them around the house, even though she’s still figuring out the “bringing it back” part of the game. More often than not, she can be found gathering all her toys onto her dog bed and happily rotating between them one by one. Bambi is naturally curious and loves exploring the world around her. Whether she’s sniffing around the backyard, investigating something new, or tagging along on an adventure, she approaches life with a sweet and eager spirit. She would make the perfect companion for a family who enjoys spending time outdoors, going on walks, exploring nature trails, or simply including their pup in everyday adventures. She has just the right balance of playful energy and calm affection, making her incredibly adaptable to different lifestyles. One of Bambi’s best qualities is how easygoing she is. When she doesn’t have a playmate nearby, she’s wonderful at keeping herself entertained with toys and chew bones. She would make an amazing work from home companion because she’s perfectly happy hanging out nearby while you work, occasionally stopping by for a cuddle break before settling back down with a toy or cozy nap. She has a calm, comforting presence and genuinely just loves being near her people. She is the kind of puppy who can happily switch from playful and adventurous to mellow and snuggly. She’s always ready for fun when it’s time to play, but she’s equally happy curling up on the couch for a quiet evening at home. With her affectionate heart, playful personality, and adaptable nature, Bambi is going to make an incredibly loving and loyal companion for a lucky family. Bambi is medium energy, and is more on the laid back. As she gets older, her energy level will likely increase. She is best described as an active couch potato because she's happy to lounge around as long as her human wants to, but the minute you want to go outside and play, she's ready to join you. Right now because she is so young, she has short bursts of puppy energy that can be quickly burned by running around in the backyard and playtime with her siblings a few times a day. As she gets older, she will need longer walks or play time in the backyard multiple times a day. She loves playing with her toys, fun games that involve yummy treats, and anything that keeps her engaged with her people. She also enjoys romping around with her doggy friends and cuddling on the couch with his foster mom.As she gets older, she will be perfectly content going on short leisurely walks around the neighborhood and have a few short play sessions in the backyard. If you want to go on longer hikes on nature trails, she will be happy to join too. She also enjoys activities that give her a bit of mental stimulation, so puzzle games and treat dispensing toys that she can work on to get some yummy dog treats. Her ideal home will have a toy box full of squeaky toys, ropes, and chew toys, and she’d be thrilled to have a BarkBox subscription to keep the fun going with new surprises every month, especially now that she is about to start teething. Bambi is dog, cat, and kid friendly. She is currently in a foster home with other dogs and her own siblings, and she loves other dogs. She would love to have another playful dog in her forever home. She would be perfectly fine being the only dog in the home, but she would benefit from having frequent play dates with other dogs as she grows up so she continues learning proper doggy communication skills and play etiquette. She would love to be in a home with another dog that is friendly and playful, but she would also do well with a calmer older dog because she's good about entertaining herself when needed. She would also thrive as the only dog and be the center of attention. If she is the only dog in the home, she would benefit from having frequent play dates with doggy friends or go to doggy day care a couple times a week so she continues having positive interactions with other dogs as she grows up. Bambi would do well with kids of all ages and would love to have kids in the home that she can play and cuddle with. She may trip a young child or toddler who is learning how to walk because of her small size and tendency to walk so close to your feet, so making sure she has a safe space to hang out in while a young toddler is learning to walk is recommended. She is very playful, sweet, and loves to be cuddled and loved on, so if there are older kids in the home to play with and give her affection, she's going to be a happy girl. Because of her young age and how easily adaptable she is, she would be able to join a family that has a cat in the home. Since she is a puppy, she would do best with dog-friendly cats that have lived with dogs before as she is a puppy and may want to play with them. She is going to start teething soon, so her humans will need to keep a watchful eye on her to make sure she doesn't chew on human kid toys laying around. Bambi is currently working on kennel training, potty training and leash training. She sleeps in a playpen at night with no fuss and will be transitioning to a kennel now that she's able to go longer at night between potty breaks. When she gets older, she would really love to snuggle up in bed with her humans every night so she can get in as many cuddles as possible though. She loves to go on outings in her doggy stroller and also likes to be carried in a doggy pouch though, so while she is still little, she can be taken on fun outings until she masters leash training. She will need additional practice to perfect her leash walking skills in her forever home. She is doing well with potty pad training and will use a potty pad if she needs to go. She has started transitioning to going potty outside, but does not know how to alert her foster mom yet. It is recommended to use a doggy door bell by the back door to help her learn how to notify you when she needs to go outside. She does need a consistent schedule and be taken out every few hours, so she will need someone who either works from home or that can come home on lunch breaks to let her out consistently. Bambi's ideal home would be one where she can be included in her family’s daily life and get plenty of love, exercise, and attention. She would love to live in a home with a fenced yard to run and play in, but she’d also be perfectly content in an apartment, condo, or townhouse as long as she gets regular walks and playtime. She would thrive in a home with another friendly dog and some kids to cuddle and play with. She's also the type of dog that can be completely happy being the "only child" and getting all her humans' love and affection to herself too. No public dog parks for this sweet girl because who wants to risk your pup catching a disease or being bullied on by other random dogs anyways. She would love to have fun adventures at Sniff Spots for playtime and exercise when she gets older if she does live in an apartment, condo, or townhouse without a private fenced-in yard. She would love if her human works from home or works a hybrid schedule, and even would love to go to work with you if you go to a dog-friendly office. If you work out of the home and she is the only dog, she would benefit from going to doggy day care a few days a week so she can continue socializing with other dogs as she gets older. With her adaptable, happy nature, Bambi would be a wonderful fit for a variety of families. Bambi is in a foster home in Central Texas. She can be adopted and transported to the following cities/states: www.loveandpuppypawsdogrescue.com/transport-locations TRANSPORT: Currently we have monthly transports. It will be up to the adopter to meet the transport to pick up the adopted pup. Please be advised that our dogs are adopted to their forever families prior to being transported. Unfortunately at this time, we cannot bring dogs for a typical meet and greet situation, due to the extensiveness of the transport distance. Applications are reviewed in the order that they are received. To ensure we are honoring the dogs that we have committed to helping, we have policies and procedures in place that we follow when reviewing adoption applications. LAPP Dog Rescue is ran 100% by volunteers, so when you submit an application it can take a few days to be reviewed. Please read the FULL bio describing the dog's personality, energy level, housing requirements and our policy on meet and greets.
