Lola is a dog with multiple serious medical concerns, including a severe circumferential muzzle wound with necrotic tissue, pyoderma, and buccal lacerations, suspected to be caused by a constricting ligature injury. The necrotic tissue has been surgically removed, and she continues to require daily hydrotherapy and SSD treatment for ongoing wound management. Additional concerns include anemia, elevated liver values, electrolyte abnormalities, intestinal parasites, and demodicosis with ulcerative dermatitis. While some bloodwork abnormalities have improved, Lola still requires continued diagnostics, close monitoring, and possible additional surgeries beyond what we can provide in the shelter environment. Lola is currently at risk for euthanasia due to the extent of medical care and potential future surgical intervention required.
