Meet Sumo β a golden girl with an easy confidence about her. She's the kind of cat who takes her time getting acquainted with a space, checking every nook and cranny at her own pace. Sumo has even figured out how to peek into the toy bin to select something that looks interesting. No one is choosing her toys for our Sumo, thank you very much. Sumo is wonderfully laid back, with a gentle purr that kicks in the moment she's feeling loved. She's happiest next to her people, whether that's curled up beside you on the couch or tucked in at the foot of your bed. She's recently discovered that lap time is also a rather lovely option, and she'll drop by for cuddles when the mood strikes her. That said, don't let the chill demeanor fool you: if a shoelace crosses her path or a red dot appears on the wall, Sumo is on it! One of Sumo's most endearing quirks happens at bedtime. She'll settle down, then decide this particular spot needs a slight adjustment, so she circles, repositions, and plops back down. She'll keep at it until it's finally, perfectly right. Sumo loves a good brushing session, and with that gorgeous golden coat, it's well deserved. Sumo and her sister Boba are easy, comfortable companions. They tend to share moods: when one is playful, the other usually is too; when one settles in for a nap, the other isn't far behind. They're often found in the same room, doing their own thing, and they're impressively good at taking turns with the same toys. Sumo has strong opinions about her sister's appearance. While grooming Boba to perfection, Sumo will hold Boba in place with a hug, or she will simply lay on top of her sibling until the job is done to her satisfaction. Which it always is. Sumo and Boba are a bonded pair, and we plan to place them together. If you would like to discuss meeting and possibly adopting sisters Sumo and Boba, email: info@chicagocatrescue.org. No texts please. CCR adopts to forever homes in Chicago or the very near suburbs that are within 10 miles of our respective Chicago foster families. Most of our foster families reside on the north side of the city. We love our cats and we pledge support for the rest of their lives, which is why our location limits are in place. We appreciate your understanding. If you are outside of these limits, please check petfinder.com, which allows searching by zip code, for cats closer to your home. At Chicago Cat Rescue, we are dedicated to both the physical and emotional well-being of the cats and kittens in our care. Chicago Cat Rescue is an entirely foster based organization. Our ability to help more cats in need is dependent on our availability of foster homes. If you think you could provide a loving foster situation for a cat in need, or would like to learn more about our foster program, please email us, foster@chicagocatrescue.org. Thank you!
