Buffy
AvailableBuffy is an 8-year-old, 7-month-old spayed female Domestic Short Hair, with striking orange coloring, currently in Union, MO. She’s up to date on vaccinations, has no teeth issues after a recent dental, and her unique walk is from being cow-hocked, but it doesn’t slow her down. Buffy is living well with short-bowel syndrome, which is easily managed with psyllium husk in her food. She thrives as a lap cat, especially in a calm environment.
About Buffy
Buffy has been in foster care for about a year and a half, but she’s finally healthy and ready to go home. This buff-orange senior lady is a true lap cat—she hops onto your lap the minute you settle in for TV and will happily stay there for hours. Buffy is living well with short-bowel syndrome, which is managed easily by adding a touch of psyllium husk powder to her canned food; the supplement doesn’t bother her at all, and it keeps her digestion on track. She also recently had eight teeth pulled, so she shouldn’t need dental care again for quite a while. If you notice her unique sashay when she walks, that’s due to being cow-hocked (her ankles point in, toes out). She's been thoroughly checked out—no luxating patellas or other issues, just her signature strut. Buffy is spayed, current on shots, FIV/FELV negative, and she does best without small children since her tummy is sensitive. She’s calm, affectionate, and simply wants a gentle home where lap time is always on the table. Fun fact: Buffy is a Libra—expect plenty of charm and the occasional need to keep the peace. How much outdoor space does this breed typically need?
Buffy is a domestic cat and should remain indoors for her safety, as is standard for most Domestic Short Hair cats. She won’t need outdoor access, just a cozy spot inside with plenty of attention and a soft lap to nap in.
Is this breed typically suitable for homes with children?
Domestic Short Hairs often get along with children, but Buffy is best suited to a home without small kids, as she is sensitive to being touched under her tummy.
