Applebee's story begins on a stormy weeknight, when a family sitting in a Taco Bell drivethru spotted a terrified kitten darting across a nearby parking lot. They tried to help, but she slipped into the bushes and disappeared. Fosters searched for her again and again, but she was nowhere to be found. Two days later, Operation Colony Cats received a message about an injured kitten behind Applebee's — and it was her. Somehow, this tiny survivor had made it through heavy storms, busy traffic, and who knows how many close calls. She had a serious wound on her back (which is now healed), likely from falling out of a car engine, but her spirit was still very much intact. And that spirit? It's pure gold. Applebee wants nothing more than to make biscuits, curl up beside you, and bingewatch whatever you're watching. She loves snuggling with her feline friends, but she absolutely lights up when her humans are near. She's the definition of a constant companion — loyal, affectionate, and happiest when she's part of your daily routine. If you're looking for a beautiful little survivor with a heart full of love and a lapcat personality, Applebee is ready to settle in and make your home her safe place forever. Everybody loves kittens, and it's easy to see why! Kittens four months old or younger are only adopted out in pairs or to homes that already have a friendly, playful resident cat. Young kittens simply do not thrive in isolation, and we do not make exceptions. If you're looking for a single cat, please look to our older kittens, teens, or adults. They're wonderful companions and fully ready to be your one-and-only. All of the Sweet Paws animals are loved a great deal by their rescuers, fosters, and the volunteers who've cared for them along the way. Your kitten will be up to date on appropriate vaccinations by adoption day, but please keep in mind that kittens require multiple routine vet visits throughout the course of their first year. Sweet Paws is staffed by volunteers, and processing applications is time intensive; therefore, we ask that you only submit an application if you are fully committed to adopting.
