About Darcy
Darcy is a gentle little soul with soft eyes, a tender heart, and a quiet hope that her forever family is finally out there. At just 2 years old and 19 pounds, this Beagle and Sheltie mix is a compact companion—easy to picture in an apartment or small home, happiest curled beside you at day’s end. Darcy’s story started in a backyard with more than a dozen other dogs, cared for by a couple who tried to help strays. Her world changed when loss and hardship left her at risk, but she kept her quiet spirit and sweetness. Brought to safety by Take Paws Rescue, Darcy spent her first weeks decompressing and learning that her world could be gentle. She’s timid at first, but anyone patient enough to let her set the pace will find one of the most loyal, earnest companions in the rescue. Darcy is housebroken, has polite indoor manners, and is most at ease in calm, steady environments. She won’t bound in ready-to-play—she moves softly, quietly, and blooms best with gentle encouragement. Darcy gets along with other dogs and was known as the best snuggler in her group. Given time, she’ll reward you with a quiet, steadfast love that’s earned, not given away. Taurus dogs like Darcy tend to be especially affectionate once they trust you. Ready to fall in love?
