Basil is a large, gentle Great Dane with a harlequin coat of grey and brown spots, soulful dark eyes, and floppy ears. She’s mellow and enjoys curling up on a comfy dog bed or snuggled next to her favorite people and dog companions. Hot dogs are her weakness, but she’ll eat kibble when that’s what’s on offer. Basil is easygoing and sweetly goofy—her signature is a little tap-dance when she’s excited. She relaxes best when in the company of her humans or another dog, as being alone still makes her anxious. Toys aren’t her thing; she’d rather stash them than play. She takes comfort in her crate when she needs to be alone, but she’d much prefer togetherness. Basil is friendly with other dogs, learns quickly, and is house trained. While she’s gentle around children, her size makes her a better fit for families with older kids.
