About Rios Located in
Rios isn't just searching for another place to stay—she’s hoping to find a new person to anchor her world. After the loss of her beloved owner, Rios has been left trying to navigate a life that suddenly feels unmoored. This striking black Malinois/German Shepherd mix has a sharp mind and plenty of drive, thriving on engagement, play, and a strong connection to her person. She loves learning and excels at obedience: Rios knows all the basics, responds to recall, heels politely on-leash, and is even off-leash trained with an e-collar. Her blue ball goes everywhere with her, and tug-of-war is her absolute favorite game—she’s got a reliable “out” to prove it. At home, Rios is well-mannered, eager to please, and happiest when she’s close by. Her main area for growth is the crate; she needs slow, positive training with lots of treats and encouragement to make crate time feel safe and rewarding. Rios gets along well with other dogs but is not suited for homes with cats. She’s a loyal, engaged companion ready to bond deeply again with someone special. Ready to fall in love? Questions about Rios Located in
What type of living environment is this breed usually best suited for?
Rios, being a Malinois/German Shepherd mix, is best suited for a home with active individuals or families who can provide plenty of interaction, structure, and regular exercise. She’ll thrive with people who appreciate her intelligence and high energy.
How much outdoor space does this breed typically need?
Rios will do best in a home with a securely fenced yard or access to plenty of outdoor space. Large breeds like Malinois/German Shepherd mixes need room to run, play, and burn off energy daily.
Is this breed typically suitable for homes with children?
Both of Rios' breeds can be appropriate with respectful, older children, especially when well-socialized. Her playful nature and high energy may be overwhelming for very small kids, so families with bigger kids are a better fit.
