Poor baby David was in rough shape when he came to HART; within a few hours he had been rushed to the emergency vet and was struggling to survive. But now, after an extended stay at the emergency vet and a whole lot of TLC, David is a super spunky kitten whose mission is to scamper his way into your heart. David is an exceptionally playful kitten who lights up when he gets a visit from anyone. After he has given you sufficient rumbly purrs, he wants nothing more than to play with you. He is so interested in meeting the other cats in his foster home that he frequently makes a jail break out of his room to hang out with them. He has also run into the resident dog and seems unphased by him. David's eye and upper respiratory issues are most likely caused by the feline herpes virus, an extremely common virus in cats that is only contagious to other cats. For his long-term care, potential adopters should be aware that the virus can reactivate during times of stress and cause eye or upper respiratory symptoms. His new family should have a conversation with their vet about the best ways to handle any future flare ups and the best practices to keep him symptom-free. David is very good about getting eye drops and taking medicine, so managing any future symptoms won't be a fight.
