**This dog is with Corridor Rescue in Houston, Texas** Laverne and her presumsed sister Shirley took some time to be brought in due their shyness with people, and both arrived heavily pregnant. Sadly, Laverne's litter proved too large for her to birth safely, and the decision was made to focus on saving her life and an emergency spay was preformed. Once unencumbered by the weight of such a harrowing pregnancy while only being an older puppy herself(she was estimated to only be 10 months old!), once timid Laverne is rapidly blossuming into a jovial, kind-hearted, wriggly youngster. While she's not the boldest nor the bravest, her bright spirit and rolly-polly antics keep our staff and volunteers in stitches.  So far, she's shown excellent manners when it comes to keeping a spotless kennel, giving us strong confidence she'll master housetraining with ease. She's also amazingly gentle on a leash, happiest when walking close to her human(s). Her story may have started bleak, but the sky is truly the limit for beautiful young Laverne.
