About Tobias

Meet General Tobias—also known as Toby or Beanie if you’ve won his trust. This six-month-old Pit Bull Terrier mix has already survived more than most dogs: he was found abandoned in the snow with severe frostbite and needed a long recovery. The moment he felt safe, his real personality started to shine. Toby is energetic, goofy, deeply affectionate, and fiercely determined. Toby weighs around 30–40 lbs and won’t get much bigger, but his energy is larger than life. You’re looking at a high-gear, driven puppy who doesn’t ever really stop moving. He needs strong structure and consistency. He just finished a board-and-train program and made great progress, but ongoing, consistent daily training is non-negotiable for him. This dog loves other dogs that play hard and can handle his rough-and-tumble style. He lives with cats now, but because of his intensity and “mouthy” play, he would do best in a cat-free home or maybe one with an extremely dog-savvy cat. He hasn’t been tested with children, but older kids or homes where interactions with younger children are closely managed are likely better fits. Toby is crate trained, mostly potty trained, fully vetted for his age, and hungry to learn. He’s shown real athletic potential and would be fantastic for someone interested in dog sports or active pursuits like puzzle toys, scent work, hiking, or regular training games. This is a dog who will only thrive with lots of exercise and mental stimulation. Toby forms deep bonds with people he trusts. He’ll be happiest with an adopter who understands high-drive, working breeds and is ready for a loyal (sometimes bouncy) adventure companion.
