He’s incredibly affectionate and truly happiest when he’s close to his person—this is a cat who will bond deeply and love you with his whole heart. Nino came from a trailer park in South Florida where all of the residents were forced to leave and the entire community was eventually demolished. He had been living in a home with his family and other cats, and when everything suddenly changed, he was left behind. Scared and confused, Nino went into hiding for months, too afraid to come out for anyone. When I was finally able to locate his owner, he came back for Nino one last time. The moment he called him, Nino came running. With tears in his eyes, he placed Nino safely in a carrier, knowing he couldn’t keep him—but wanting him to have a chance at a better life. And Nino hasn’t forgotten what it means to be loved. Today, he is a sweet, gentle, people-focused cat who thrives on human attention. He gets along with other friendly cats, but he’s not dominant and doesn’t look to them for comfort—he prefers his person and would truly shine as your one and only. He would do best in a quieter home with someone who has time to give him the love he craves. His gorgeous coat will also need regular brushing to keep him looking his best.
