About Cassie No Longer

Cassie is a lovely, long-coated poodle/spaniel mix who was found roaming rural South Carolina. She’s spent time in a bustling foster home with adults, a child, two dogs, and two cats, and she’s taken it all in stride. Cassie thrives in a group setting—she’s at her happiest when she’s surrounded by people and especially other dogs. In fact, she really shines when there’s a confident, playful dog around to show her the ropes. Even though Cassie sometimes hesitates with new people or places, patience pays off—once she trusts you, she’s goofy, cuddly, and loyal. She’ll trail you through the house, eager to be part of the action, but she values her downtime, too, curling up with a favorite toy or lounging quietly near a canine buddy. She’s polite with cats, careful not to overstep, and she’s gentle with the 10-year-old boy in her foster home. If it’s noisy or there are boisterous children visiting, she’ll look to her people for reassurance but recovers quickly. Cassie is playful and lively outside but isn’t constantly on the go. She relishes yard play and dog wrestles, but is just as happy chilling by your side indoors. House training is coming along, and crate training is underway—she does best with a routine and someone often at home. If left alone too long, Cassie can get anxious, so a family with a flexible schedule suits her best. On a leash, she’s learning to build confidence, though big trucks and heavy traffic can be scary. Patience and gentle guidance will help her continue to grow. She’s clever with toys and has been known to "borrow" a sock or shoe, so a little management is wise. And since Cassie can be an escape artist in new environments, a secure, gap-free fenced yard is a must. With patience, structure, and a dog-savvy companion, she’ll reward you with steadfast devotion.
