(as of 4/26/26) Weight: 45 Lbs. (as of 5/4/26) This dog has been spayed/neutered, is up to date on shots, on heartworm preventative and is microchipped. Coleman is as friendly as he is handsome! This young guy is just over a year old. He looks to be close to full Australian Shepherd and has gorgeous chocolate and fawn coloring as well as one brown eye and one blue eye! Coleman has gotten along with everyone in his foster home and he is described as "loving" by his foster Mom. Coleman has liked the children he has met so far and has been very friendly with them. He gets along with the dogs he lives with and enjoys meeting new pups as well. He engages in playful bitey mouth/tug of war activity with his pup friends old and new. Coleman recently met a dog savvy cat and at the time showed no interest at all. He rides well calmly in a car and is said to love to go to new places. Coleman is always game for a new adventure! Young Coleman has been through a lot in his life so far. Unfortunately, he was hit by a car and the Vet had to amputate one of his back legs. He is healing nicely but he does still have some shaved spots where he laid post-surgery and a couple of "hot spots"on his hip and shoulder. He is on prednisone and antibiotics to speed up his healing and his fur is already growing back. He was taken in by a family in the South but they were unable to keep him. None of the challenges he has faced seem to get Coleman down! He is described as a precious dog!! He is said to immediately get along with others, is easygoing and isn't bothered by much. He loves to run zoomies around the yard and enjoys playgroup but doesn't mind a snuggle or two either! He is not overly vocal but will bark when he gets excited while playing. Coleman is ready to meet his family and get down to the serious business of play with you! He sounds like an all around wonderful guy and that he would be a great addition to any home. An adoption donation is required for each adoption; please see HERE for more information about this. To apply for this dog, fill out an adoption application on our website: Adoption Application - SOS Animal Rescue League in Rhode Island (sosarl.org) **Additional info you should know - For most of our dogs, we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each of our dogs as an individual and do our best to describe and place them based on personality not breed label. Some dogs may not yet be in New England, nor ready for immediate adoption. There may be additional vetting, quarantine, waiting periods and/or fees depending upon your state of residence. If you have questions or concerns on any of this, you can discuss this with your Adoption Counselor.
