About Crickette

Somewhere out there, a Disney cricket is singing about wishes coming true… and meanwhile Crickette is out here trying to make sure you never go to the bathroom alone again. 🦗✨ Location: Skiatook, OK Apply at: https://www.pyrpawsandfluffytailsrescue.com/adoption-app This girl may not carry a tiny umbrella or wear a little top hat, but she does come with a whole lot of heart, a busy little brain, and the firm belief that she should be included in absolutely everything you do. Crickette is incredibly smart, affectionate, and wonderfully engaging. She has the kind of personality that keeps you laughing because she’s always thinking, always curious, and always trying to figure out what’s happening around her. And yes, sometimes you can physically watch her brain buffering in real time. One second she’s lovingly staring into your soul, the next she’s forgotten why she walked into the room because a dust particle floated by suspiciously. She approaches life like Doug from Up with unlimited WiFi tabs open in her brain at all times — “I love you! Want cuddles! What’s that noise? Is that a snack? Oh my gosh a leaf!!” But honestly? That’s part of her magic. Underneath the adorable scatterbrained antics is a deeply loving, affectionate dog who settles down beautifully, bonds hard with her people, and genuinely just wants to be wherever you are — preferably touching you in some capacity while she supervises your entire existence. Crickette is a 2-year-old, 49lb female Husky/German Shepherd mix. Yeah yeah, we know. Some of you just felt your blood pressure rise a little and started having flashbacks to videos of Huskies screaming because someone gave them the wrong brand of ice cube. 😅 But while Crickette definitely has the goofy “there’s elevator music playing between my ears” Husky energy sometimes, she is surprisingly not the kind of Husky who spends her free time arguing with walls, filing noise complaints because you stopped petting her for three seconds, or dramatically screaming like a Victorian woman fainting onto a chaise lounge because she was asked to come inside. Instead, Crickette is soulful, incredibly loving, ridiculously cuddly, and honestly just wants to make everyone around her happy. She’s the kind of dog who looks at you with those deep thoughtful eyes like she understands your tax stress and emotional baggage. She bonds hard with her people and genuinely thrives on love, attention, and being part of the family. And thanks to that German Shepherd intelligence, when it came time to have her puppies, Crickette said, “Absolutely not, I will not be giving birth on the cold hard ground like some sort of peasant.” This girl found herself a couch and had her babies there instead. Not long after, Crickette and her puppies ended up in the shelter, where thankfully she made her way to us soon after. And while she may have started out as a stray mama trying to survive the best way she knew how, it’s very clear this girl was always meant to be someone’s beloved companion. Crickette absolutely loves meeting new people and approaches life with the enthusiasm of someone who believes every stranger was specifically placed on Earth to be her friend. If you come over to the house, she would very much like to greet you personally, show you where the snacks are kept, and possibly supervise your entire visit. When it comes to other dogs, Crickette does wonderfully with medium and large dogs and really enjoys having canine buddies to interact with. Small dogs, however, are probably not her thing. Somewhere deep in that Husky/German Shepherd brain, she seems to believe tiny animals are suspicious little woodland creatures sent to test her self-control, so a home without small dogs would definitely be best. Cats? Crickette sees cats less as roommates and more as unauthorized moving objects that must be investigated immediately. So she will need a kitty-free home where nobody has to live in fear of being dramatically pursued down the hallway. She’s only been around teenagers in her foster home so far, but honestly she has such a loving, nurturing personality that we think she would likely do very well with kids. That said, Crickette occasionally has “Doug from Up spotting a squirrel” moments where her thoughts leave her body for a second and she gets a little spastic or distracted in her excitement. Because of that, kids around 8 and older who understand respectful dog interactions would probably be the best. At the end of the day, Crickette is just an incredibly affectionate, sociable dog who genuinely wants to love and be loved. She’s goofy, smart, entertaining, and the kind of dog who fills a house with personality the second she walks into it. Crickette’s energy level sits around a solid 7, which basically means she’s not training for an ultramarathon through the Arctic tundra like some Huskies seem emotionally committed to doing, but she’s also not going to spend 14 consecutive hours pretending to be decorative throw furniture either. She likes being active, involved, and mentally engaged — but she also knows how to settle down and relax once she’s satisfied her daily need to supervise the universe. She walks really well on leash overall, though if something catches her attention, she will suddenly remember she has investigative journalism to complete immediately. A leaf blowing suspiciously across the road? Needs inspection. Weird sound in the bushes? Potentially life-changing information. As for adventures, Crickette falls somewhere in the middle. She’s not a nonstop go-go-go adrenaline junkie, but she’s definitely not a couch potato either. She’s what we’d call a professional busybody. If something interesting is happening, she wants to be included. She likes to know what’s going on, where everyone is, and whether she should personally supervise it. And honestly, that personality is what makes her so lovable. Crickette is incredibly smart, affectionate, and engaging with a funny little scatterbrained streak that keeps life entertaining. One minute she’s laser-focused on cuddling you like you’re the center of her world, the next she’s distracted because she heard a bird cough three counties away. But underneath all of that curiosity is a deeply loving dog who forms strong bonds with her people and genuinely just wants to be involved in everyday life. he enjoys toys, prefers land over water activities (because apparently she skipped the “dramatic Husky splashing montage” software update), and overall just has that wonderful balance of playful, loving, curious, and sweet. Crickette will definitely need a securely fenced yard or a very walk-committed human who’s prepared to provide multiple daily neighborhood investigations, squirrel surveillance missions, and “ma’am please stop trying to inspect that bush” negotiations. This girl has places to be, things to sniff, and absolutely no interest in living a sedentary lifestyle like some sort of decorative throw pillow. Crickette already knows commands like sit, up, and down, and she learns quickly. She also randomly offers her paw like a tiny furry businesswoman trying to close an important deal, though nobody is entirely sure what prompts it. Honestly, Crickette feels like the kind of dog who could learn just about anything if someone put the time into her. Trick training, advanced obedience, goofy party tricks — the potential is absolutely there, and she genuinely seems to enjoy using her brain. She’s potty trained, does well when kenneled for shorter periods, and overall has very good house manners. She doesn’t chew on things she shouldn’t and generally behaves very well in the home. Right now she sleeps in her designated puppy area with her babies and also stays there while her foster is away. As for barking, Crickette is honestly pretty quiet overall. At the end of the day, Crickette is just an incredibly smart, friendly, loving girl with so much potential. She’s goofy, engaging, affectionate, curious, and wonderfully people-oriented. With continued structure, guidance, and someone willing to embrace her funny little scatterbrained personality, she is going to make an absolutely incredible companion. ❤️ Crickette is smart, affectionate, loyal, cuddly, endlessly entertaining, and has the kind of personality that makes a house feel more alive the second she walks into it. Somewhere out there is a family who will absolutely adore her goofy little brain, her giant heart, and her need to personally supervise every aspect of daily life — and honestly, we can’t wait for her to find them. ❤️ If you think that might be you, fill out an adoption application so we can send it over to her foster family for review. Please do not simply stare dramatically at her photos whispering “what a beautiful dog” while contributing nothing else to society. Crickette cannot process your emotional support likes and telepathic adoption interest into an actual home. Applications are required, humans. Crickette is located in Skiatook, OK and adopters will need to come pick her up there. She would like to remind everyone that she already survived motherhood, the shelter, and her own scatterbrained thoughts — the least you can do is make the drive.
