AvailableAbout Rollie
You know those little rollie pollies that curl up into tiny balls when you pick them up? Well… somebody apparently wished really hard for one of those to become a puppy, and thus, Rollie was born. Minus the exoskeleton. Plus extra fluff. And significantly more interested in belly rubs than surviving in your flower bed. Location: Skiatook, OK Apply at: https://www.pyrpawsandfluffytailsrescue.com/adoption-app Rollie is the kind of puppy who quietly sneaks into your heart without making a big production about it. He’s calm, gentle, sweet, and so soft-hearted that you almost forget he’s there… until you look down and realize he has somehow melted against your leg like a warm little potato with feelings. He absolutely loves attention from his people, but in the most endearing way possible. No dramatic demands. No chaos goblin behavior. Just soft eyes, gentle cuddles, and a quiet little “excuse me, I would also like to be loved now please.” Honestly, if comfort was a puppy, it would probably look a lot like Rollie. So if you’ve been searching for a sweet little sidekick who looks like he was handcrafted from marshmallows and good intentions, Rollie may just be your guy. Rollie is a 6-week-old, 5lb male Appalachian Dust Bunny mix. “What is that?” you ask. Excellent question. We made it up because honestly your guess is as good as ours at this point. 🫡 Potential breed suspects include Husky, German Shepherd, Australian Cattle Dog, Border Collie… and possibly a raccoon with emotional support fluff. Mama Crickette came to us after someone discovered she had decided their sofa was the ideal location to raise her pups. From there, they all ended up at the shelter before joining our fluffy butt family here at PPFT. Mama appears to be a German Shepherd/Husky mix and currently weighs about 49lbs, and based on the evidence available to the FBI (our rescue volunteers staring at them dramatically), we don’t think dad was very big either. Our best guess is Rollie may end up somewhere around 50–60lbs full grown… but let’s be honest, puppy genetics are basically a game show hosted by chaos. He could be smaller. He could be larger. He could wake up tomorrow and suddenly identify as a moose. We simply do not know. BUT — for those of you who adore our rescue dogs but quietly panic at the thought of adopting an 85lb polar bear with selective hearing and a commitment to barking at leaf movement… this may be your moment. Rollie is likely going to be more “medium-sized adventure buddy” than “small livestock guardian that takes up your entire couch and taxes your vacuum cleaner emotionally.” So if size has been the thing holding you back from adopting from us (or adopting in general), congratulations. The universe has delivered you a pocket-sized fluffy opportunity. 🎉 Rollie loves playing with his littermates and has also become quite fond of the foster family’s resident Pomeranian, Tallulah. Frankly, watching a tiny fluffy marshmallow puppy follow around a tiny fluffy cotton ball dog is enough to heal at least 37% of your emotional damage. He’s gentle, social, and happy to join the puppy party without being a tiny hooligan about it. Rollie is still just a tiny little potato baby and hasn’t officially met any cats so far. At this age, though, proper introductions and continued socialization will go a long way toward helping him learn that cats are roommates… not mysterious moving furniture. Rollie loves kids and genuinely seems to enjoy attention from anyone willing to stop and love on him for five seconds. He’s the kind of puppy that quietly waddles over for affection like a fuzzy little gentleman making his social rounds at a neighborhood barbecue. Sweet, gentle, and always accepting cuddles as payment. Right now Rollie is sitting at about a 3/10 on the energy scale, which means he enjoys little bursts of exploring and puppy playtime followed immediately by filing for a mandatory nap break. Basically, he approaches life the same way retired people approach Costco samples — casually, politely, and without unnecessary urgency. He’ll play, wander around investigating important baby puppy business, and then suddenly you’ll find him passed out mid-thought like his tiny battery pack gave up. Rollie is one of those puppies that quietly sneaks into your heart without demanding attention every five seconds. He’s calm, quiet, and so gentle that sometimes you genuinely forget he’s there… until you look down and realize he has silently melted against your leg. There’s just something incredibly sweet and comforting about him. He has a soft, loving personality that is almost impossible not to fall in love with… which honestly feels a little unfair considering he also looks like a tiny fluffy woodland creature somebody accidentally brought to life. 🥹 Now, while Rollie may currently appear to be a tiny sleepy angel sent directly from the heavens wrapped in fluff, let us all remember one very important fact: he is still a puppy. A baby puppy. A tiny little learner with approximately two brain cells currently dedicated to snacks and naps. His future family will need to continue working on all the important puppy life skills like potty training, leash walking, socialization, and basic manners. Rollie will need positive experiences with new people, places, sounds, animals, and everyday life so he can continue growing into a confident, well-rounded dog. Training should be fun, consistent, and reward-based — because while we suspect there may be some German Shepherd/Husky/Border Collie intelligence floating around in there, that also means there’s a decent chance he may someday look you directly in the eyes and decide your request feels optional. And of course: puppy proofing. If it exists and fits in his mouth, there is a solid chance he may eventually test whether or not it is edible. The good news? Rollie already has the sweetest foundation. Underneath all the future puppy shenanigans is a calm, loving little guy who genuinely adores his people and just wants to be close to them. 🩵 So if you’ve been looking for a puppy that is equal parts gentle soul, tiny fluffy gentleman, and emotionally supportive cinnamon roll… Rollie may just be your guy. He’s sweet, calm, affectionate, loves people, gets along wonderfully with other dogs, and somehow manages to look like a baby woodland creature that accidentally wandered into civilization looking for cuddles. Honestly, he’s the kind of puppy that makes you want to cancel your plans just to sit on the floor and hold him like a burrito. Now, if you’d like to apply for this tiny rollie pollie impersonator, you’ll need to fill out an adoption application so we can send it over to his foster family for review. Because despite what Rollie may tell you telepathically through his tiny sad eyes, you cannot simply declare “that’s my dog now” and drive off into the sunset together. And yes — you will need to come pick him up in Skiatook, OK. 🚗✨
