Ashley was surrendered after having some accidents in the house, so she may need continued work on her potty training and a consistent routine to help her succeed. She does a pretty good job keeping her kennel clean during the day, though she occasionally has overnight accidents. With patience, structure, and positive reinforcement, this smart girl will likely continue making progress. One thing that makes Ashley especially unique is her deformed front foot, likely something she was born with — but don’t tell her that! It doesn’t slow her down in the slightest. She still loves going for walks, playing hard, and staying active. She can pull quite a bit on leash when she gets excited, so continued leash training will help her become the perfect walking buddy. Ashley absolutely adores treats, snacks, attention, and having fun with her people. She’s also quite the talker and loves to grumble and chatter while she plays or expresses herself. While she can be selective about her dog friends, she enjoys rough-and-rowdy play with dogs she likes. Because she has a bit of a prey drive, she would do best in a home without cats or small animals. Ashley is a wonderfully sweet, spirited girl looking for an active home that will embrace her goofy personality, continue her training, and love her exactly as she is. At the Humane Society of Midland County, all animals adopted will be spayed/neutered, microchipped, and up to date on age-appropriate vaccinations prior to an adoption. Dogs over 6 months of age will be heartworm tested, and any dog with a positive test will receive treatment at no additional cost. No Appointment Needed to Meet Adoptable Animals! We have open adoption hours, and walk-ins are always welcome! While filling out an application lets us know you're interested in adopting, it does not hold an animal, and applications are not required to meet the available animals. We do highly recommend and may require you to bring any dogs that reside in the same household, or that will be around commonly if you are meeting a new dog companion.
