About James
James is a sensitive soul slowly finding his way after coming from an animal hoarding environment. He’s still very nervous, unsure of new things, and leans on a gentle touch and patience as he learns to trust people. Having a calm, confident dog companion could really help James come out of his shell, as he seems to feel safest with other dogs around. He’s house trained and has been on a leash a few times, but every outing is still a lesson in courage for him. He will do best with someone who understands that progress will be slow and who can offer the calm, loving environment he’s never really had. He gets along with other dogs and is good with children, but needs a home that understands his timidity. Ready to meet your new best friend? Apply now!

Questions about James
What type of living environment is this breed usually best suited for?
James is a Chiweenie mix, which generally adjusts well to smaller homes or apartments, as long as he gets enough attention and activity. He'd do especially well in a calm household where he has a safe space to retreat when he feels overwhelmed.
How much outdoor space does this breed typically need?
A Chiweenie mix like James does not require a large yard, but he does benefit from regular walks and time outside. A secure, fenced space is helpful, but plenty of indoor play and leashed walks are just as important.
Is this breed typically suitable for homes with children?
James’s breed traits and his own temperament suggest he can do well with gentle, respectful children. Positive experiences and gradual introduction are important for helping him feel safe.
