About Daffy
Daffy is a young domestic short hair in San Jose, CA currently under the care of the shelter and seeking urgent rescue due to medical needs. She has faced quite a bit physically—first diagnosed with ringworm (now clear), then recovering from an upper respiratory infection. Recently, Daffy required surgery for a chronic right hip luxation, undergoing a femoral head ostectomy at the shelter. While her incision was healing well at first, she developed a mild complication likely from licking, so she's now on antibiotics and wearing an Elizabethan collar. Daffy needs continued rehabilitation and physical therapy to improve the mobility of her right pelvic limb. The shelter isn't equipped for the ongoing care or extended ringworm isolation she once needed, so they're looking for a placement that can provide focused attention to her recovery. Despite all she's endured, staff describe her as friendly. She is waiting for a patient adopter or rescue to help her finish healing. Every animal deserves a happy ending. This one starts with you.
