Hi, I'm Wilma. And I'm Kind of a Big Deal. Okay, 60 pounds big. But don't let that fool you. I am a lap dog through and through, and I will prove it every single chance I get. Now, full transparency. New people make me nervous and I will absolutely be judging you from a distance before I decide you're worthy of my love. But give me a little time, let me come to you, and I will warm up the same day. No sudden movements, no rushing me, just act natural and pretend you're not desperately hoping I like you. I can smell desperation, by the way. If I get overwhelmed, I'll either execute a full dramatic flop right where I'm standing...or I'll head to my crate for a little mental health break. Don't take it personally. I'll be back like nothing happened, looking for the nearest lap to occupy. We're talking cuddles, and me personally deciding when you're done petting me. Spoiler: you're never done. Speaking of my crate, cover it and I sleep like an angel during the night, not a single peep. Don't cover it and I will remind you of that decision. Repeatedly. At whatever hour feels right to me. During the day I can get a little chatty, especially if I suspect I've been left alone, just my way of making sure you haven't forgotten about me! Outside is where I truly thrive. I walk right by your side on a leash like an absolute professional, unless the zoomies hit, in which case all bets are off and I apologize in advance. And if there's snow on the ground? I completely lose my mind. Face first, full zoomies, eating it like it's a five star meal. It is. Don't question it. A yard is the goal. No yard? Long daily exercise and we've got a deal. I'm reasonable. Mostly. I'm a big fan of other dogs and play really well with them. Toss me a ball or hand me a plushie and I will keep myself entertained for a while. I also love laying outside and soaking up the fresh air because why not? Bath time? No drama here, I'm great for it. I just may decide to lay down mid-bath and get comfortable. Self care is important. Oh and the blow dryer? I just sit right through it like a pro. One tiny thing I should mention, potty training and I are in an ongoing negotiation. We're already at 75% outside, and we got there really fast and getting better every day! What helps most? Structure, consistency, and your patience. I thrive when I know what to expect, so the more routine you can give me, the faster I'll get there. We don't need to make it weird. If you've got a lap, some toys, and a whole lot of love, I might just decide you're my person. So, what do you say?
