About Annie

Annie is a 4-year-old Redbone Coonhound who’s spent much of her life watching the world pass by from behind a shelter door. After months in a Kentucky shelter, she ended up overlooked and shut down, but since joining her foster home in Bethlehem, PA, Annie’s resilience has quietly shown through. Her soft, velvety coat and gentle nature have won over everyone she’s met—Annie quickly finds a window to watch the world go by, or simply curls up with a bone, content to slowly settle into home life. She started out nervous, easily startled by sudden noises or unpredictable moments, but with patience and routine, she’s learning to trust and seek out affection. Annie is housebroken and crate trained—she seeks her crate out by choice and feels safe there. She enjoys the company of other dogs and will share a bed happily, and she’s also just fine with cats after being tested at the shelter. Annie walks nicely on the leash and sits patiently for her harness, though a squirrel can briefly override her calm demeanor. She fits best in a quiet, predictable home with a patient adopter willing to help her grow her confidence; in return, she’ll offer quiet loyalty and gentle companionship. Interested adopters must drive to meet Annie in person in Bethlehem, PA—Rogers’ Rescues does not hold dogs, so readiness is a must.
