🦋✨ Meet Butterfly ✨🦋 Location: Skiatook, OK Adoption App: https://www.pyrpawsandfluffytailsrescue.com/adoption-app You know those butterflies in movies that gently flutter around princesses while magical music plays in the background? Yeah… Butterfly has that same sparkle. Butterfly is a social little sweetheart who absolutely loves being involved in the action. If there’s a human nearby, she would like to meet them. If there’s attention available, she would like all of it. And if there’s a conversation happening? Please understand she may contribute her own tiny commentary because this girl does have thoughts✨. She’s affectionate, outgoing, and full of puppy charm with just enough sass to keep life entertaining. One minute she’s snuggled up sweetly beside you like the world’s most delicate little butterfly, and the next she’s giving you dramatic tiny “woo-woo” speeches because dinner is clearly 14 seconds late. Butterfly is a 6-week-old, 4lb female ShepskyHeelerCollieflutterfoo. (Translation: possible German Shepherd, Husky, Australian Cattle Dog, and Border Collie. Basically the canine version of someone blindly hitting random buttons in a character creator and somehow still ending up with something adorable.) Mama Crickette came to us after someone discovered she had given birth to her puppies INSIDE their sofa. Yes. Their sofa. Which honestly feels less like a normal rescue story and more like the beginning of a southern fairytale written by a sleep-deprived raccoon. Once the family realized their couch had become a maternity ward, mama and babies made their way to the shelter before joining our fluffy butt family. While dad remains a mysterious traveling salesman who vanished into the night without leaving child support or a DNA test, mama appears to be a German Shepherd/Husky mix and is only around 49lbs herself. We also don’t believe dad was very large, so our best guess is Butterfly may end up somewhere around 50–60lbs fully grown. Now listen… that is VERY much a guess. Genetics are weird. Puppies are weird. Rescue math is weird. She could stay smaller. She could wake up one day and decide to become a moose. We truly do not know. What we DO know is that she likely will not be your typical Pyrabear-sized land cloud. So if you’ve been admiring our dogs from afar thinking: “I want a fluffy rescue dog but I’m not emotionally prepared to be body-checked by a 110lb polar bear who steals entire rotisserie chickens off the counter…” Congratulations. This may be your opportunity. Butterfly is currently very convinced that every living creature exists solely to be her friend, audience, or cuddle servant. She absolutely loves playing with her littermates and has also become quite fond of the foster family’s Pomeranian, Tallulah. Honestly, watching this tiny puppy bounce around with a Pomeranian feels like watching two completely different Disney side characters accidentally become best friends. Butterfly is playful, social, and very much believes everyone should participate in her daily activities immediately. She has not yet been introduced to other dogs outside of her foster home due to her young age and vaccine schedule, but so far she appears to approach life with the confidence of someone who assumes every stranger is simply a friend she hasn’t met yet. As for cats, Butterfly has not been introduced to them yet because right now she is still approximately the size of an overgrown potato with legs. Once she’s older and appropriately socialized, proper introductions will be important. Kids, however? Butterfly says yes please. She absolutely loves children and soaks up attention like a tiny fluffy sponge. If there are kids nearby willing to pet her, hold her, or tell her she’s pretty 47 times in a row, Butterfly is fully prepared to dedicate herself to that relationship immediately. She’s affectionate, social, and thrives on interaction — basically the canine equivalent of that extrovert at a party who somehow leaves with six new best friends and an invitation to brunch. Right now Butterfly’s energy level is around a 3 out of 10, which in puppy terms means she alternates between “tiny social butterfly” and “dramatically passed out in the middle of the floor like she just finished doing her taxes.” She enjoys playing, exploring, and socializing, but she’s still very much at the age where life is exhausting. One minute she’s bouncing around making new friends and supervising household activities she knows nothing about, and the next she’s asleep in a weird position with one paw in the air like her battery abruptly died mid-thought. Personality-wise, Butterfly is an absolute people puppy. She loves attention, wants to be involved in whatever is happening around her, and fully believes she should be included in every conversation, activity, and emotional support moment available. If you sit down, she would like to join you. If you walk into another room, she would like to know where you’re going. If you are doing literally anything interesting, Butterfly assumes she has been hired as your tiny assistant. She’s affectionate, outgoing, and social without being overly wild, and she already has the kind of personality that makes people instantly smile when they meet her. And yes… she is also a little bit of a talker. Not in a “bark nonstop at the wind” kind of way — more in a “tiny dramatic commentary from the peanut gallery” kind of way. She occasionally shares her thoughts, opinions, concerns, and possibly podcast material in adorable little puppy noises that somehow make her even more charming instead of less. Now, while Butterfly is currently a tiny fluffy angel with approximately four working brain cells and zero bills to pay, her future family does need to remember that she is still very much a BABY baby. That means her adopters will need to continue working on all the important puppy basics including potty training, leash training, socialization, confidence building, and general manners. Proper socialization will be especially important for Butterfly so she can continue growing into a confident, well-rounded adult dog. Positive exposure to new people, places, sounds, surfaces, animals, and experiences during puppyhood makes a huge difference later on — especially when you’re working with breeds known for being intelligent, active, and occasionally a little too aware of their surroundings. And yes, puppy proofing is going to matter. A lot. If you leave things unattended, Butterfly may eventually assume they were placed there specifically for her personal enrichment program. The good news? Butterfly already has the social, affectionate personality that makes training fun and rewarding. With patience, consistency, structure, and a good sense of humor, she has all the ingredients to grow into an absolutely wonderful companion. Butterfly is sweet, social, cuddly, entertaining, and already has the kind of personality that makes people completely obsessed with her within about 14 seconds of meeting her. She’s looking for a family ready for puppy snuggles, tiny dramatic conversations, and a lifetime of laughter with their very own fluffy little sofa goblin. If you think Butterfly might be your perfect match, fill out an adoption application here: https://www.pyrpawsandfluffytailsrescue.com/adoption-app Once approved, we’ll send your application over to her foster family so they can decide if you seem worthy of this tiny sofa-born princess and her very important puppy thoughts. Butterfly is located in Skiatook, OK and adopters will need to pick her up there. No, she cannot be shipped via Amazon Prime. No, she cannot hitchhike home with your friend’s cousin’s barber. And no, “but I live really far away 😭” does not magically summon a puppy teleportation system. And if you can’t adopt Butterfly, PLEASE share her post. The Facebook algorithm is basically a possum with WiFi and a nicotine addiction, so every like, comment, and share helps this tiny butterfly find her people.
