About Corneta Louie

General Notes | Louie is the sweetest chocolate mix puppy who is the ultimate life of the party and a total snuggle bug. He has already mastered "sit" and is making great progress with his crate and potty training, proving just how smart and eager to please he truly is. Louie is looking for an adventurous family ready to embrace his puppy shenanigans and guide him with love as he grows into a loyal best friend. Want to adopt this dog? Please do not email us. Please fill out the Adoption Application ASAP, and an Adoption Coordinator will be in touch within a few days. Our standard application processing timeline is 12 - 14 days. Personality | Louie is the life of the party! He's playful, energetic, and curious. As a young puppy, Louie is a blank slate ready for training and socialization. He is already showing how smart he is—highly motivated by treats and even more motivated by praise and affection. He is looking for a family that will embrace the "puppy shenanigans" and guide him with patience and love as he grows into a loyal, well-mannered adult dog. Story | Dumped in rural Arkansas, a local rescue stepped in to keep these puppies safe until they could make their way to Colorado to find their forever families! He was placed with a foster in TX for three weeks before making his way to Colorado to live a great life of adventure! He is sweet, well socialized now, and so excited to continue to grow and learn. Louie is a lab MIX with high emphasis on the mix. While he looks chocolate, his siblings look different and adopters need to understand that the rescue does not guarantee breed! Other Dogs | Great with other dogs! Similar to his sister, Louie is playful but respectful! When his foster siblings growl or set the tone that they don't want to be messed with, he rolls over or walks away. He is great at reading the room, and knowing their boundaries. He likes to snuggle, follows his foster siblings around, and encourages them in play by dropping toys at their feet. Cats | He is young enough to do well with kitties with proper intros! His fosters think he would do great with a kitty sibling. Children | He is young enough to do well with kind, respectful kiddos. He loves loves loves snuggles and would thrive with littles who want to teach him, give him attention, and cherish him! Training | In progress. Louie is 75.3929% potty trained, sleeps in a crate at night, and has mastered "sit." The rest of his training is in the works! Leash | Too little to leash walk, but will learn with time! Our rescue follows “No Paws on the Ground" (NPOG) as a safety protocol for young puppies, primarily used by veterinarians, shelters, and rescues. It means that an unvaccinated or partially vaccinated puppy should never be allowed to put his feet on the ground in any public or communal area where other dogs or animals may have been. These babies love to play in secure yards, and be snuggled and held on family walks. Activity Level | Moderate/High. Typical puppy who loves to play, nap, repeat! Health Notes | Healthy and happy :) UTD on all vaccinations. Thank you! | Adoption Donations | Our adoption donations are $575 for dogs 8 weeks to 1 year old, $525 for 1 - 6 years old, $475 for dogs 7 - 10 years old, and $350 for 11+ years of age. Purebred dogs regardless of age are $625. These minimum donations help to defer the costs of initial vet care, food, transportation to Colorado, and supplies while in foster care (that currently average over $750 per dog). Meeting Dogs | Foster dogs may have meet and greets by appointment to approved applicants only. To become an approved applicant - please complete the application process. We will not respond to emails about animal availability or allow meet and greets without an approved adoption application on file. Please Note | Available dogs are updated as soon as possible and we do our best to keep it up-to-date, but occasionally dogs shown may become unavailable without notice due to a pending adoption. We can not guarantee that a dog you wish to adopt is available by the time your adoption application is submitted, processed, and approved. Your application is good for one year from the date of applying for any dog as long as it is a good fit for your family and your lifestyle. We encourage you to put in an application even if you don't see your new family member currently, as once you are approved, we can place you on the waiting list for first priority on the selection of the dogs we do bring in. That means you can often meet a dog upon transport arrival and adopt before they even make it to this page!
