Dog's Name: Shaggy (SHA0526ALAMDHW) Estimated Breed: Westie / Cairn Terrier mix Approximate Age: 5 years Approximate Weight: 15 lbs Currently Living at: Coming Soon Adoption Fee: $475 DOG'S DESCRIPTION: Meet Shaggy — A Sweet Soul Ready for His Fresh Start Shaggy is a mature little gentleman with a calm, low-key personality that makes him an absolute joy to be around. After coming from a hoarding situation, he's more than ready to leave the past behind and discover what it truly means to be loved, safe, and cherished. Shaggy gets along wonderfully with other dogs and would be perfectly happy in a home with furry friends or as your one-and-only little buddy. We have learned that Shaggy tested positive for heartworm, but with treatment provided by K-9 Lifesavers, he'll be feeling fine in no time. What Shaggy needs most is a patient, loving home where he can continue to blossom at his own pace. So, if you're looking for a sweet and loyal companion, apply today—Shaggy is waiting for you. To learn more about heartworm please visit: https://www.webmd.com/pets/dogs/features/heartworms-in-dogs-facts-and-myths Your new pet will require a refresher in house-training. K-9 Lifesavers strongly recommends all new adopters enroll their new pet into obedience training. This provides for an easier transition into a new home, ensures the dog remains well socialized, and helps form a bond between the dog and the new family. Adoption fees cover basic vetting, rabies (if puppy is old enough), distemper/parvo vaccinations, deworming, monthly heartworm prevention while in our care (if old enough), monthly flea/tick prevention while in our care, and transport costs. K-9 Lifesavers will also cover the cost of spay/neuter at our partner vet at 6 months of age or reimburse adopter for up to the amount of our partner vet cost should you choose to spay/neuter at your own vet.
