Mikey
AvailableMikey is a young, neutered male Domestic Short Hair in Muskegon, MI. At just over two years old, he is vaccinated and adjusting to life without his previous home. Mikey is medium-sized and looking for a new start in a loving environment.
About Mikey
Mikey has lost his home and person through no fault of his own. His caregiver went into hospice and there was no one left to bring him in, so Mikey is now finding his way in unfamiliar territory. At first, he was overwhelmed and kept himself hidden behind his box, taking time to emerge as he adjusted to his new surroundings. Now, sharing space with other cats, Mikey is slowly figuring out how to adapt and react to another big change. Given his young age, Mikey should adjust to a household with a gentle, non-aggressive dog or another cat. He’ll be most comfortable with older children who understand how to treat cats respectfully—soft touch, no squeezing, and letting him go if he wants to get down. Confinement or rough handling will likely make Mikey nervous, so his adopters need patience and a gentle approach. Play is still in his future, but he may hang back until he feels safe and confident. Mikey is grieving and confused by these changes, but, with time and patience, he can recover and thrive once again. If you have room in your heart for a cat who needs a gentle landing, Mikey is waiting for a second chance at family and belonging. Ready to fall in love? Hit apply and lets get started.
