A Sato is a Puerto Rican street dog, and Gem’s story began on the streets of Puerto Rico where she was found protecting and caring for her newborn puppies. Despite the difficult conditions she was living in, Gem stayed devoted to her babies and kept them safe until help arrived. Thankfully, she and her puppies were rescued, and now all of her puppies have found homes of their own. It is finally Gem’s turn to be cared for and loved. Gem does well with other dogs and has an incredibly sweet, calm disposition. She is still settling in, so we are continuing to learn more about her personality and routine, but she has already shown herself to be a loving and gentle companion. This beautiful girl has spent her life taking care of others. Now she deserves a safe forever home with a family who will take care of her. Gem is being fostered in Perryville, MD.
