About Miss Serena

The Lancaster Animal Shelter called me in late February with a mom cat and five kittens rescued from a hoarding situation. They said, “Dogs, cats, and reptiles were everywhere. We were amazed the kittens were alive.” Through the whole intake process, with much poking, prodding, bathing, picking, and brushing, the mom cat earned her name - Serena. The kittens recovered quickly, and after they were weaned they were soon adopted by wonderful people. Now Serena is ready for her forever place in the world. The vet says Serena was less than a year old when she had her kittens. Since her kittens have gone home, it has been fun to watch her navigate her new life, and experience late kitten-hood. She is cute, curious, and intelligent. Although sleek and small-framed, now that she has eaten well for a few months, she has put on some muscle. She is quirky with expressive mannerisms, a variety of vocalizations, and has confidence well beyond her diminutive size. Watching her play by herself or with other cats and kittens in pure joy. Best of all, she loves human attention. Serena would do well in a home with other cats or a dog. At her first foster home, Serena went straight up to the family dog and shoulder rubbed her. Serena has done well with our adult male cats, as well as with some of our other foster kittens. She is young and has lots of energy, but loves a nice quiet nap close to her people. Our nominal adoption fee includes FIV/FeLV testing, deworming, vaccinations, and spay/neuter. Serena was recently spayed and is FIV/FeLV negative.
