About Bean

Tiny, Tender, and Learning the World One Step at a Time Bean may be small, but there’s something incredibly special about the way he moves through the world. Born December 2025, this little Rat Terrier mix is still very much a baby — not in the loud, chaotic puppy way, but in the soft, quiet, still-figuring-it-all-out kind of way. Everything is new to him. Every sound, every space, every experience is a “first,” and you can see him taking it all in with a mix of curiosity and gentle caution. Bean isn’t overly confident — he’s thoughtful. He’s the kind of puppy who pauses, observes, and then slowly leans in once he feels safe. And when he does? That’s where the magic is. He is incredibly calm for his age, with the sweetest, most gentle energy. He absolutely loves to be cuddled — not just nearby, but fully curled up on you if you’ll let him. He would choose falling asleep in your arms over anything else, every single time. At just around 15 lbs right now, Bean is still growing and has so much ahead of him. We guess he may end up being 25-35 lbs fully grown, but cannot be certain. He’s currently working on his potty training and crate training, and like any young puppy, he’ll need an adopter who is patient, consistent, and ready to guide him through all the basics. Bean is fostered in Toronto, Canada, and will be looking for a home that understands he’s still learning the world — one that will give him the time, reassurance, and love he needs to continue building confidence at his own pace. He may not be the boldest puppy in the room, but he is the kind that quietly steals your heart — the one who bonds deeply, loves fully, and grows into something truly special right alongside you. +++++++ ADOPTION APPLICATION: https://www.stmuttsrescue.com/adoption-application +++++++ Bean is currently being fostered in Toronto, Canada and will be transported to his forever home by our rescue. +++++++ The Truth About Rescue: Every rescue pup is a work in progress — and that’s the beauty of it. None of them come wrapped in a bow, ready-made or mistake-free. They come with stories, quirks, and hearts that have seen a lot but still choose to trust again. Adoption isn’t about perfection; it’s about presence. Showing up for them, every day, until they know they’re finally home. That’s when you’ll see them bloom — playful, confident, and loved. And somewhere along the way, you’ll realize they were never the only one being rescued. +++++++ Once we have received your application, we will review it and reach out to set up an interview with one of our volunteers. If you have additional questions, please email us at SaintMuttsInquiries@gmail.com . Note: As with all of our rescues, we recommend homes with children 10 years and over to ensure the best fit for both the pets and families involved.
