Nutmeg, who is appropriately named for her coloring and spice level (both sweet and spicy), is the cutest little thing. She loves to play with toys, bones, other dogs, and her human family members (both adults and children!). She is a typical puppy with bursts of energy followed by long naps. When she is tired of playing and wants to nap, she may wander around your legs, sticking her nose and head up against your legs/pants - this is her way of telling you she wants to curl up in your lap. As soon as you sit on the floor or the couch, she curls right up for a snuggly snooze. Nutmeg is very smart, though she is still fighting those puppy impulses at times! She knows "sit", "lay down", "this way", "come", and "take a break" when she and her foster sister need to take a play break. Nutmeg is mostly potty trained but still requires frequent potty breaks as she learns her needs. With supervision, she will usually ring the bells on the door or sit and wait at the door when she has to go potty. Nutmeg sleeps through the night in her crate in our bedroom with no issue. She will also go in her crate for naps throughout the day. She does prefer to have others in the room or the TV on during her crate naps. Nutmeg can be a little timid and fearful in new situations and may bark at other dogs or new people, but after a few minutes and some positive reinforcement, she gets comfortable and really loves everyone of all ages.
