About Buddy
Meet Buddy. His journey hasn’t been easy—he and his sister were abandoned to fend for themselves, and by the time help arrived, only Buddy remained. Ever since, he keeps a little lamb chop toy close, quietly squeaking it as if holding onto a precious memory. That small ritual says a lot about the love and longing he carries with him. Now safe in a foster home in Manteca, Buddy is showing just how resilient and gentle he can be. He’s a small rat terrier mix with short black and cream fur and the sweetest, soulful eyes. Neutered, fully vaccinated, and house trained, Buddy gets along with dogs, cats, and children. People describe him as gentle and affectionate, but also funny, loyal, and quietly independent. Buddy needs a home where he won’t have to worry about being left behind again. He’s looking for someone with a little patience and a lot of heart, someone ready to help him feel safe and loved for good. Give Buddy the fresh start he deserves.
