Meet Tina, a 9-year-old, 12-pound Bichon Frise with a soft, gentle presence and a quietly sweet personality. Tina is still learning confidence and can be a bit shy at first, taking her time to feel safe and comfortable in new environments. She is a sensitive little dog who does best with patience, routine, and a calm approach as she adjusts. With time and reassurance, Tina begins to open up and show her affectionate, tender side. Tina does well in playgroup and has shown that she can come out of her shell when interacting with other dogs. Because of this, another confident canine companion in the home is required to help her feel secure and supported as she continues building confidence. She enjoys gentle interaction and is looking for a calm, patient home where she can continue to grow at her own pace and feel safe while doing so. A meet and greet at the shelter is required to ensure it is a good fit for everyone involved. ------ Before being rescued, many of our dogs had limited socialization, so they may need some time to adjust to life as a family pet. Older kids are often a great fit for our dogs, and homes with younger children will be considered based on each dog's individual needs. Skills like house training and leash walking may take a little extra patience and practice. However, with understanding and a gentle hand, most of these dogs adapt quite quickly.
