About Nesta
Nesta’s a 3-year-old, medium-sized lab and catahoula mix who’s been making slow, steady progress since she was rescued from life under an abandoned house. She’s lived with dogs her whole life and absolutely comes alive around dog companions, so another playful canine is a must for her. Nesta is fully spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, and ready for adoption. While she can be a bit wary of new people and sudden noises, she does not react aggressively; instead, she’ll retreat to her crate for a bit, then circle back once she’s comfortable. She’s good with older children who understand boundaries, but young kids and cats aren’t a fit—her energy and sensitivity just don’t mix. Nesta is house and crate trained and enjoys a predictable routine. She prefers to play and relax in the yard rather than go on walks, although she walks nicely on leash even if she’s shy about it. Patience, quiet, and consistent structure help Nesta’s true sweet, affectionate side emerge. Her ideal home is calm, with someone experienced in shy or sensitive dogs. Given time, she blooms into a devoted companion. Adopters will need to meet her in person in Blaine, WA to finalize adoption after a virtual meet and greet. They are waiting with paws crossed!
