Gus and Lily are compatible if you're looking for two cats. Gus is a very large cat with a passion for pets -- which, according to Gus, is when he asks. He has perfected several techniques for getting attention, including sitting upright on his back legs like a tiny bear, gently relocating your hands with his paws, and staring at you with big dramatic sad eyes. Your mind will go to Puss in Boots with his tiny hat. Please pet Gus. It's the right thing to do. Gus's only real quirk is that he occasionally gets lonely at night. If this happens, expect gentle whisker tickles to the face until you acknowledge him. And if the weather is cold, he assumes he has been formally invited under the blankets with you. Like many large cats, Gus operates under the universal "if I fits, I sits" philosophy, even when he very clearly does not fit. He enjoys climbing to high places and arranging himself on furniture in ways that appear to challenge both physics and structural engineering. The good news is that Gus loves treats, puzzles, and learning new things, so his impressive brain can usually be redirected for good instead of chaos. Despite his size, Gus is not particularly food obsessed and mostly ignores human food. He prefers dry food in puzzle feeders over wet food, enjoys being brushed, and is currently learning that being picked up is not actually a personal attack. He has excellent litter box habits and is a devoted fan of his cat fountain. Gus is the unbonded sibling of Lily. Now that they've settled into foster care, it's clear they make excellent roommates rather than inseparable companions. They coexist peacefully, don't argue over food, water, or litter boxes when each has their own setup, and comfortably share space together without needing to cuddle or play.
