About Chance

Chance's story isn’t an easy one, but it’s not finished yet. He’s a large terrier mix who has survived serious neglect and cruelty, including being abandoned and injured. Left near a soccer field, underweight and suffering from wounds and infections, it’s believed he was used as a bait dog. Chance lost some vision in one eye, but his trust in people never failed—he greeted his rescuers with gentle kisses. Now, thanks to his foster family, Chance is safe and improving every day. He’s been neutered, is putting on healthy weight, and is being treated for heartworms. At just 2 years old and about 60 pounds, he’s kennel trained, house trained, and loves belly rubs and cuddles. He craves being close to people, offering a sweet, calm presence. Chance gets along well with other dogs, but he should not go to a home with cats. After all he’s endured, Chance simply needs a home that will give him the comfort and safety he deserves. Give him the second chance he’s waited for—he’s earned it.
