Bacon is a tiny little nugget weighing only around 7 pounds at 10 weeks old. We do not think she will be a big dog because her paws are still so small. Bacon came from Dallas Animal Services with her two sisters, Onion and Avocado. The puppies were found as strays and when they got to the shelter they tested positive for parvo. All three puppies were placed on the euthanasia list because of it. We tagged them to save their lives, but unfortunately we were too late for Avocado, who passed away at the shelter. When Bacon and Onion came to us, they were both very sick. Sadly, Onion’s little body could not handle parvo and she passed away. But Bacon fought so hard. She was hospitalized, battled through it all, and survived. She is one strong little girl. Bacon is very sweet, but she takes a little time to warm up because she is shy. And honestly, I don’t blame her after everything she has been through at such a young age. Being poked and prodded constantly is scary for a baby. But once she knows she is safe, she is absolutely adorable. She loves being carried around like the little princess she is. She loves gentle playtime with her people and gets so excited chasing the broom around. Bacon adores other dogs and tries to give every single one kisses, even when they don’t appreciate it. She also really loves yummy food. Bacon is great with cats and plays with our rescue cat. She is also good with chickens. She walks okay on a leash and follows you everywhere off leash like your tiny shadow. Bacon has already fought harder than most dogs ever will. Now she just needs a family to show her what love and safety feel like forever.
