Gretel is a 1-year-old Dutch Shepherd mix with a playful streak and an easy-going, adaptable nature. At around 40 pounds, sheās full of puppy curiosity but knows when to settle in for a quiet hangout. Her short brindle coat gives her a striking look and her left ear has a habit of perking up when something catches her attention. Sheās house, crate, and leash trained, and already knows commands like sit and lay down. Gretel enjoys the company of other dogsāshe even loves doggy daycareāand has done well with the dog-savvy cats in her foster home. She greets new people with a gentle, social attitude, never hesitating to offer affection. Gretel likes to stick close to her people, so donāt be surprised if she follows you from room to room. Sheāll thrive with patient guidance and would love a fenced yard for bursts of play, but she also adapts to a laid-back pace as long as sheās part of the action. She is well-mannered for her age, but, as with any young dog, sheāll need ongoing time and commitment for continued training. Everyone in the home should be ready to help Gretel become her best self.
