"Prospect Pete" is a miniature Dachshund boy who was recently rescued from a shelter in Louisiana. He is estimated to be 5 years old, heartworm negative, neutered and up to date on vaccines. He has a minor skin issue that is clearing up with medicated shampoo. He gravitates toward women more, so he needs a new mommy to be his main caretaker. As far as men in the home, he will be fine with them just as long as the male in the home is not his primary caregiver. He takes a while to warm up and accept treats and pets from a guy. "Petey" does well with both cats and dogs. He will need a home where daily walks is a must. He will do fine with other friendly playful dogs. Foster mom has a female foxhound that he loves! He chases her around the yard. So far he has been a fun little dog according to his foster mom.
