Apparently the Tumbleweed family also produced Texas — the only one who missed the memo about dramatic fluffy coats and instead showed up looking like he runs a roadside mechanic shop somewhere off Interstate 10. Texas is a handsome shepherd mix boy with a shorter coat, soulful eyes, and the expression of a dog who’s seen things. Mostly squirrels. But still. He’s friendly, affectionate, and carries himself with the confidence of a dog who believes every visitor arrived specifically to see him. He’s playful without being completely unhinged, smart without being smug about it, and loyal in that quiet, steady way shepherd mixes tend to be. This boy would love a family who wants a true companion — somebody to ride shotgun on adventures, patrol the backyard for invisible dangers, and dramatically sigh beside you after a long day of pretending to work. Texas has enough personality to keep life interesting but not so much that you’ll end up on one of those “dog ate my sectional couch” support groups online. He’s more “let’s hang out together” than “let’s destroy drywall and test your blood pressure.” Honestly, Texas feels like the kind of dog who should already belong to somebody. One of those dogs that settles into your life so naturally you forget there was ever a time he wasn’t there.
