Meet Isla! This sweet lady dog's transition to shelter life was much harder than it needed to be. We have tried introducing her to other dogs, but so far she has been ambivalent. She seems to enjoy treats and knows to sit for them. So far she has been quiet and a bit reserved. We will see if her personality evolves as she becomes more accustomed to her new situation. Origin Story: Isla was dumped outside of the shelter after hours with a female long haired black chihuahua/ terrier mix who was tragically hit and killed by a car right in front of the shelter. We have currently reviewed our surveillance footage and have made abandonment report with the police. Our shelter is a safe haven for pets. We are open 7 days a week, 365 days a year. There isn't any reason to dump dogs on our property. To say this is traumatizing and heartbreaking for us is an understatement. Please call 911 during overnight hours and we will be dispatched to help. We are here to help. We are not a dumping ground for pets in need.
