About Ziko

Ziko is ready for a new beginning after a tough past. He arrived in the U.S. from Egypt in March, having survived difficult circumstances as a street cat there. After losing his tail due to an act of cruelty, Ziko now sports a little nub and doesn't let it stop him from enjoying life. Ziko is about 2-3 years old and is gentle, loving, and timid when first meeting people. His background has made him understandably cautious, so new folks should give him time to settle in. He adores head scratches, though he may be jumpy if touched elsewhere until he gets comfortable. Ziko’s short fur is remarkably soft, and he settles in nicely for naps on heating pads or perched by a window to birdwatch. Playtime with toys is another favorite, especially if it involves a little chase. He’s happiest in a calm and quiet home with someone patient who will let him come out of his shell at his own pace. Ziko gets along well with other friendly cats but could also be content as a solo cat if he gets plenty of attention. He is neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped. If you're looking for a companion who needs understanding and has a ton of love to give once he trusts you, Ziko might be your match. They are ready to love you; are you ready to apply?
