About Guineviere

Guineviere, known as Gigi to her friends, is a petite and lively dachshund with a soft, chocolate brown short coat and an endless craving for human affection. Shy at first and easily spooked by new environments, she turns into a world-class Velcro dog once she bonds, trailing her favorite people, demanding arms to be carried in, or curling up on their feet (be warned: she’s a top-tier tripping hazard). Gigi’s background is a tapestry of early losses—she survived against the odds as a bottle baby with her littermate, then lost both her canine and human family members. With all that change, she does not enjoy being alone. Her foster has been easing her toward independence, but routine, patience, and maybe a sound machine truly help. When left alone, she needs reassurance and time to settle in to a new rhythm. She’s famously wiggly, loves to dance, dole out kisses, and seeks a home that appreciates snuggles almost 24/7 (her standards are high). Gigi isn’t leash trained yet and dislikes being tethered but is working on it slowly. She doesn’t mind the company of other dogs, cats, or respectful children, but a home sensitive to her attachment needs and feisty silliness is best. She’s not yet house trained and sometimes has accidents—her foster is addressing possible medical causes and Gigi is currently on antibiotics (carpet beware). She’s up to date on vaccinations, microchipped, heartworm negative, and set for more dental and spay evaluation soon. Her $400 adoption fee includes a $200 refund with proof of spay and dental evaluation after adoption. Ready for a best buddy who needs you as much as you need her?
